Bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens,
Brown paper packages tied up with strings…

Do you know the song, My Favorite Things? It was written by Rodgers & Hammerstein and has been recorded by a great many singers – we particularly enjoy Sarah Vaughan’s recording. The song lists some of the singer’s favourite things. Her tastes are very simple, almost like those of Proust’s Maddelaine: “bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with strings...” The rhyme, the alliterations and the whimsical melody take the listener on a journey into the pleasures of childhood, both heavenly and yet profoundly of the Earth.
We want our menu to be like that song, and so we put it together with a few of our favourite things in mind.
